Piña colada or Pina Colada is a Puerto Rican cocktail and was first made in 1950's. There are multiple stories about its origin some even dating back to 19th century. Pina Colada is a sweet cocktail drink made with White Rum, fresh Pineapple juice and coconut cream or coconut milk.

Ingredients

Main Ingredients for Pina Colada

  • small pieces of Pineapple
  • 50 ml Bacardi Carta Blanca
  • 50 ml Fresh Pineapple juice
  • 1 tbsp Coconut Cream
  • 1 tsp Caster Sugar
  • Ice

Garnishing

  • Pineapple Wedges
  • Orange Wedges
  • Maraschino cherries

Instructions

How to mix Piña Colada

  • Take fresh chunks of Pineapple in a blender and add, white rum, fresh pineapple juice, coconut cream, caster sugar and ice. Run the blender on slow speed to mix the ingredients.
    50 ml Bacardi Carta Blanca, 50 ml Fresh Pineapple juice, 1 tbsp Coconut Cream, 1 tsp Caster Sugar, small pieces of Pineapple, Ice
  • Strain the drink into the glass and add some more crushed ice to it. Garnish with a pineapple and orange wedges and cherry.

Notes

Some considerations while preparing and serving Piña colada -
  • Use fresh pineapple chunks and juice to make the drink.
  • Consume the drink immediately once prepared as the flavour will change when kept for long.
