Main Ingredients for Egg and Cress Sandwich
- 2 Large Eggs
- 4 Slice White Bread
- 1/2 Cup Watercress
- 1/8 tsp Salt As per taste
- 1/4 tsp Red Chilli powder
- 1/2 tsp Grounded Black Pepper
- 2 tsp Salted Butter
- 1 tbsp Mayonnaise
Preparation Steps to make Egg and Cress Sandwich
First take 2 large eggs, Take a frying pan and fill it with water by 2/3 rd. Put eggs in the pan and let it boil for 15 mins.

Now shutdown the flame and drain hot water. If you are short in time then pour cold tap water to cool down the eggs. Now peal the egg by slightly tapping the egg shell with a spoon. This will rupture the egg shell and you can easily peal the shell.
Now take 1/2 cup fresh watercress in a bowl and clean it in running water. This should remove any dirt in the watercress.
1/2 Cup Watercress
Chop the water cress and keep it aside.
Now put the boiled eggs in a bowl and mash it using a spoon or a fork.
How to make Egg and Cress Sandwich
Take mashed eggs and add some mayonnaise and butter to it. Mix it well
1 tbsp Mayonnaise, 2 tsp Salted Butter
Now add some salt (as per taste), Red chilli powder and Black pepper to it and again mix it well
1/8 tsp Salt, 1/4 tsp Red Chilli powder, 1/2 tsp Grounded Black Pepper
Take a slice of breads and gently apply egg and mayonnaise paste on top of it. Now sprinkle some chopped watercress on it and cover with another slice of bread
4 Slice White Bread
Cut the bread diagonally into 2 pieces and your Egg and Cress sandwich is ready to eat.
Few considerations while cooking and serving -
- Add salt as per your taste
- If you do not have salted butter available, you can use unsalted butter
- If you are diet and tracking your daily intake then you can adjust with amount of mayonnaise and butter to maintain your calorie count.
- Watercress can be replaced with cress itself.
- Serving size can be adjusted based on person.
