We call it highly customized since you can add as much or as little ingredients based on how much time you have. Omelette recipe is one of the simplest recipes to prepare at home. It is best when you are running against time since it hardly takes 5 - 10 mins to cook.

Ingredients

Main Ingredients for Omelette

  • 2 medium eggs Ande
  • 1/4 small Onion Pyaaz / Pyaz
  • 1/4 small tomato Tamatar
  • 10 g chopped Capsicum Shimla Mirch
  • 2.5 g Green Chillies Hari Mirch
  • 1/4 tsp Red Chillies Powder Lal Mirch
  • 1/4 tsp Salt Namak or As per taste
  • Pinch of Black Pepper
  • 2 tsp Vegetable Oil
  • Few Coriander leaves

Instructions

Preparation Steps to make Omelette

  • Finely chop Onion, Green Chilli, Tomato, Capsicum and Coriander leaves.
    1/4 small Onion, 1/4 small tomato, 10 g chopped Capsicum, 2.5 g Green Chillies, Few Coriander leaves
  • Crack open the egg and put it in a bowl. Now add chopped onion, green chillies, Salt, Red chilli powder and Black pepper in the bowl.
    2 medium eggs, 1/4 small Onion, 2.5 g Green Chillies, 1/4 tsp Red Chillies Powder, 1/4 tsp Salt, Pinch of Black Pepper
  • Now beat it with a fork or spoon until it is frothy and everything is mixed properly.

How to make Omelette

  • Place the frying pan on gas and set it to medium flame. Now add Vegetable Oil to the pan and spread it evenly by tilting the pan.
    2 tsp Vegetable Oil
  • Once the Vegetable Oil is warm, add the beaten mixture to the pan. Spread the egg mixture properly by tilting the pan slightly. Sprinkle chopped Tomatoes, Capsicum and Coriander leaves on top of it.
    1/4 small tomato, 10 g chopped Capsicum, Few Coriander leaves
  • Cook for 20 – 30 secs and now flip the egg to cook other side or fold it into half. Cook for another 30 seconds and the Omelette is ready to serve.
  • Good job! Your Omelette is ready in no time. Isn't it quite simple and easy to prepare?

Notes

Few recommendations and customization -
  • You can change stuffings based on your personal preference, some options are adding - mushroom, cheese, spring onion, spinach etc.
  • Garnish Omelette with some green herbs such as Parsley etc based on your personal preference.
  • You can remove green chillies seeds if you don't like them.
