Instructions

How to make Bread Pakora Batter

  • Finely chop Green chillies and Coriander leaves.
40 g Green Chillies, Few Coriander Leaves
  • Now to prepare the batter, take Gram Flour, Rice flour, Red chillies powder, green chillies, coriander leaves, Garam Masala, Turmeric, Salt and Carom Seeds in a bowl and add 1.5 cup water to it.
1 cup Gram Flour, 40 g Green Chillies, 1 tsp Table Salt, 3/4 tsp Turmeric Powder, 1/2 tsp Carom Seeds, 1/2 tsp Garam Masala, Few Coriander Leaves, 2 tbsp Rice Flour, 3/4 tsp Red Chillies Powder
  • Now mix all Ingredients properly so that there are no lump formations else it will spoil the experience. Your batter is now ready.

How to make Bread Pakora

  • Cut each Bread slice into 4 pieces cutting diagonally. You can remove the border of the bread slices in case it is hard. Though some people like them anyways.
    8 White Bread
  • Take approx 2 cup Vegetable oil in a deep frying pan and put it on gas and switch it to high flame. This step you can do while you prepare the batter so that the oil is quite hot by now.
    Vegetable Oil
  • Once the oil is hot enough you can then start making Bread Pakora. To check if the oil is hot, take 1/4 tsp batter and drop it in the frying pan. If it makes intense fizzing sound and the batter drop immediately floats in the oil then it means oil is ready for frying.
  • Take Bread slices and wrap them well with batter such that they are covered completely. Now drop it in the hot oil. Be cautious of the hot oil spatter as they may cause burn. This may happen if you accidentally drop water droplets in the hot oil, so be careful.
  • While you fry, roll over Bread Pakoras so they get fried evenly on both sides. Fry Bread Pakora until they turn golden brown in colour. Once they get the required colour you can take them out using slotted turner or slotted spoon.
  • Your Bread Pakoras are now ready to be served. Before serving, sprinkle some Chat Masala and some herbs such as Parsley and Oregano on top of Bread Pakoras for added flavour.

Notes

Some considerations while cooking and serving -
  • In case while preparing the batter if there are any lump formations, then you would have to press them to dissolve. When there are very fine lumps left in the batter, leave it for few minutes and
try breaking them again. This time they should dissolve easily.
  • In case you do not have Rice flour, you can skip it and the Bread Pakora or Bread Fritters will still be delicious.
  • Do not fry Fritters or Pakoras on low flame as in such case they will soak more oil and not cook properly.
  • You can complement Bread Pakoras or Bread Fritters with Green Coriander Chutney aka Green sauce or Tomato Ketchup.
